wholeheartedly I believe 
that its difficult to truly see

Strawberries

Strawberry stained lips
and the rush to find peace
but it doesn't quite go that way
I know I need to drop the race

Instead I'll keep the color close
I'll touch and feel the red
I won't throw the green away 
I'll keep it nearby

I'll taste the sweet
and grow into rest

So slow my step 
and still my heart
I know you wait for me

My dear friends

They leave the porch light on for you 

And paint their room the deep sea blue 

Together exploring the winding path 

Some days so bright some days feel dark

But knowing that best is up ahead 

And betting on healing for each other 

They've felt the waiting room pain so raw

the voices raised that have carved the ache

And the invisible strings that suffocate 

But their plants get water every day 

And even when it seems to fade, 

They know that growth is here to stay 

Redemption

I'll fight to be free

even when waves of elm come over me 

and claws of raven dig in deep

no real bed to sleep 

I'll fight to be me 

down the sunny slope

in no way taught to cope

but I find

that the river runs wild and wide

it splashes me with grace on every side

and I'm mesmerized by redemption
