Victorious Summer

Laying in the rain on hot summer pavement
soaked to the bone
water washes, heat  heals
determined to be victorious
I told my stories and spilled my tears
you held my hand and called me there
walked me through the night
water washed and the storms healed
light in my eyes
It'll never leave
I'll bring it home at summers end
and you can see
I've been victorious
